A Career in Airports

As a generation of government-trained workers near retirement, there exists tremendous opportunities for bright, motivated workers to join the airports sector and help prepare Canada’s airports for tomorrow. As many as 1,500 jobs in airport operations and management are expected to become available over the next 5-10 years.

For those interested in a being part of a fast-paced environment, a career in airport operations or management offers the ability to be part of an ever-evolving industry – one in which you get to be a part of one of Canada’s most important links for trade and development.

Canada’s airports are vital engines of economic growth for the communities they serve. They create more than $45 billion in economic activity in the communities they serve. More than 200,000 jobs are directly associated with CAC member airports, generating a payroll of more than $8 billion annually.

A formal education in airport or aviation management may not necessarily be required to pursue a career in this fast-paced, growing sector. Nevertheless, you may want to consider one of the college and university programs available across Canada and the United States with aviation/airport programs.
