Director of Security and Industry Affairs
Chris Phelan is the Canadian Airports Council Director of Security and Industry affairs. Chris joins the Canadian Airports Council after six years with a prominent Ottawa based government relations and public affairs firm.
For the last six years Chris has provided political, strategic and public policy advice to clients on a wide variety issues. In particular Chris developed a significant expertise in several areas including: chemical product defence, intellectual property/copyright legislation, electronic product stewardship, and energy transportation and generation. In addition to his consulting work, Chris was also Director of Research for the firm.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Chris has lived on both coasts of Canada, in St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France; Changwon, South Korea; and Boston, MA . Chris holds a combined Hounours B.A.in political science and history from the University of King’s College (Dalhousie University) and a Masters of Political Science from Northeastern University.
