Josee Curry

Director of Public Affairs

Josee became the Director of Public Affairs in May 2016. In 2017, in addition to maintaining her responsibilities as Director of Public Affairs, Josee also became the committee secretary to the CAC's Environment Committee.

Josee has worked in federal minister’s offices for seven years, serving most recently as Director of Parliamentary Affairs and Issues Management for the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, the former Minister of Environment. Josee provided strategic advice on all parliamentary and legislative issues to the Minister, which included overseeing all phases of the legislative approval process from the development of legislation to Royal Assent.

Prior to this role, Josee was the Parliamentary Secretary Assistant in the Minister’s office at Health Canada, as well as Press Secretary. She worked through a very busy health crisis for several months during the H1N1 flu pandemic in 2009. 

Josee also worked as a reporter and associate producer for CBC radio for eight years across the country, including Quebec City, Yellowknife, Inuvik, Corner Brook, St. John’s and Ottawa. She produced hundreds of original news stories and documentaries that aired locally and nationally. Josee has a Master’s degree in Journalism from Carleton University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English Literature from Carleton University.
